A 'Free' Writing Exercise Shared

Sitting here in a quandary, trying to decide what to write about I became enamored with an epiphany. You are doing the same thing! Or, you have an idea, an inspiration, are motivated and moving along a line, a continuum, are in motion walking or running toward destiny. Like me or others you know, or you ponder, will it work, do I have something to say, how will others receive the message? And, for that matter what is the message.

Metaphorical Thinking - The Starting Line, The Christmas Tree, Drag Racing

Here I go diving head first into a pool of unknown thoughts floating like Lilly’s in the frog pond. Is there purpose in this writing project? What will the message be? Just what do I seek? How much will it cost me – time, effort, emotion, and etc. How do I identify the audience? Will it entice the readership? Does all that matter, since many seek to gratify ‘self’ with writing and writing is the tool, the means, the vehicle of sharing ‘self.’

What do I write about? Is there a who? And, just who is the who? Even though I may choose to write a recipe there is a story – there is always a story! And, I appreciate ‘your’ sharing these stories with us, with me, and with your ‘self.’ What about the what? Is what an object? Is it something or an organism, being life, objectified? Maybe for this story, but not the next one?

Quickly - this is 45 seconds long. It is a car powered by 8,000 horsepower doing the 1/4 mile in about 4 seconds driven by Ashley Force - A woman!

Life is an Opportunity to Discover, Learn & Teach

[Digressing a moment and sharing I discover MS Word, does not like that previous statement placing a squiggly green line under it. So, put a question mark there and, ‘yes, still the squiggly line. OK, click review and discover what experience says. Well, it says it is a ‘fragment.’ I see no subject, therefore I am going to connect it to the previous thought. Is it something or an organism, being life, objectified, although maybe for this story, but not the next one? I like that since dissonance is created.]

I See it Now, The Mountains Accross the Valley

Back I go, my mind now hurrying along going back in the past to catch up to the future through the present. So, continuing, I will jump from what to where, which is here. Darn, I was so enjoying allowing ‘self’ to dance with the future, and here captures my essence pulling back to now.

[QUICK explanation: I am going to the NHRA Winternationals on the 10th - Friday of February 2012, (My dance with the future - smile). Ashley Force, although not a personal friend, knows me as the uncle who gets signatures for his nieces.(recognition) on diecast cars and hero cards. She had a wonderful child, born just recently) and isn't racing this year - but shall return. However, this is her little sisters' (Courtney Force) Rookie Year piloting an 8,000 horsepower, 300+ MPH Fuel Funny Car. This will be her inaugural event. Little girls need all kinds of heroines today! (The link for the funny car is another video of Ashley, but this time seeing from a launch. Her dad, 14 time world champion watches closely)]

Reminds me of “How now brown cow.” I don’t remember the rhyme and usually would dash onto the net seeking remembrance and re-discovery, alas, not this time. Better stop here and review, since I know not where the story is going, now.

I have a ‘who’ while thinking of “Horton Hears a Who.” The audience is the who! I have a what too! The what is “There is always a story.” And, the where, of course, is here – smile. It is time to share in the thought processing of this story.

Just Jelling

Who (remembering from the article “Meeting my Nemesis” from complexity comes simplicity shared by Misty, who is an allegorical instrument,Note: That hub is poignant and hard to read regarding ethics and morality) is a process of / for / ??? discovery and exploration.

a. Prompted by the “Salsa recipe of Sholland10, which is a very delightful, yet intense story and the many comments she received I realized it took almost a year for her to write.

b. Realizing I miss Cloverleaf and her recipes, the camaraderie we experience as writers, authors, and community members I pictured the hub by homesteadbound titled Meals Under $1: Not Just Another Grilled Cheese Sandwich then again thought of Misty's quote "From complexity comes simplicity." How long did it take homesteadbound to write this article? Experience says a lifetime! Thank you for sharing homesteadbound! Your experience is invaluable and a 3X champ like you in the midst we can learn. Your lifetime of experience offered freely is the definition of intrinsic value. Thank you for investing in us. They always cause a smile. I will be reading Early Stage Alzheimer’s Disease: Eating Problems and Mealtime Issues soon, for personal reasons. (edited 05/06/12 for clarity)

[An oddity of the cosmos, fate, kismet, luck. I just got the link to Cloverleaf and discovered she published a new hub How to Extreme Coupon in Canada 2012 25 hours ago from 12:40 PST, which is now. I have a big smile now! Welcome back after your 3 month hiatus Cloverleaf]

c. Discovering the ‘who’ is you, the community at hubpages. Ain't life Grand!

2) What is a concept – friendship, and how it is defined by any ‘self’ while questioning is it universal or personal or a combination. In other words do I buy the combo plate or do I get an entre. Got to have a drink no matter the ‘what.’

3) Where is the complexity and simplicity is how to get the who to experience ‘here’

Is this the Moral to the Story?

When is next and it is an oddity. When always conjures in this mind, which I always question if it is mine, Hebrews 13:08 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.” Enough preaching, just sharing, while speculating the how can I not knowing the "who" (Rock On!) that is a cause in a finite continuum of infinity a when for any one singular reader. I know the audience does understand, but I ponder the reader.

Going further or farther depending on perspective we must discuss the “why” while saying who cares about the ‘how much at this point,’ since the story is almost done. Let me share a sociological experiment I did for almost three years. (Here is an explanation of Symbolic Interaction as a Social Psychology. Although intense reading the bolded definitions gives the jest to it all for understanding it.)

Or, Is it Here?

I sat in an office which was the main cross through from the warehouse, higher corporate managers / leaders offices, the front office, and the front door. The copier was my roommate. For three years when people passed through I would say simply – “why.” The replies were always similar to because, why not, I dun’no, leave me alone Mitch, when are you going to stop asking that, etc and etc. Approximately three years latter a young woman, whom was a representative of some type walked through. Like many I had never met her before. Just after passing my desk, as I looked toward the wall in front of my desk, the copier was behind me, and she was at the ‘other’ door heading to the Vice President’s office – whew! Long sentence, I asked quietly - "why?"

She stopped just when grasping the door knob heading toward destiny and said “Z.” Smiling shaking my head slightly, turning, gazing upon her, saying “finally I am free” she said, “It was simple.” I shared very rapidly the experiment, and then she smiling while going on her way toward destiny disappeared like the wind called Mariah <Note: This is not correct. The reality is it is They Called the Wind Maria.>

The stove or oven

  • The plot
  • The audience
  • Inspiration
  • Motivation

The readership

  1. Tasters
  2. Taste testers
  3. Leaders
  4. Followers

Questions to ask

  • Does every story have a moral
  • Is it a parable?
  • Is it an allegory?
  • Is it a metaphor?
  • Is it historically correct?
  • Can it be substantiated?

What do you desire, want, or wish to learn?

What message if any are you conveying?

Teaching with Recipes (Whoops did I give it away?)

So, having shared a ‘Free Writing’ process, (what about Free Will too?), {See the movie Good WIll Hunting and ponder} seeking a short story to write about I’ll toss in some more for the salad of opportunity.

Have a purpose first.

Separate your ingredients

  1. Who
  2. What
  3. Where
  4. When
  5. Why
  6. How much

Add spices

  • Protagonist
  • Antagonist
  • Side kick (informal jargon

Footnote:

Hub ideas. Where does Footnote come from? Is that similar to an a** whooping that comes in a can? Never mind - I bought some of those cans on eBay for a collectible. The real footnote is if you watched the video interview with First Woman Thunderbird Pilot Maj. Nicole Malachowski (short or long version) from the hub The Flight of Night: Conjured from a Creative Writing Prompt you will see a whole bunch of ribbons and medals on the left breast of her uniform jacket (close to the heart). In the military branches of service that is called 'Salad.' Just ask any military wife / Mom here or military personnel writing here or retired, discharged or honorable veterans of Service.

(By the way in the long version video she shares how the members of the Tuskegee airman interacted with her. Talk about breaking the glass ceiling, I heard the plate fall onto the floor. For more on these courageous World War II aces see the movie or stop by Patty Inglish, MS notable hub How George Lucas Presents the 332nd Fighter Group/US Army Air Corps and the North American P-51C Mustang Red Tails

Quick Notes: Listen Carefully, OK

When you read, always vote! Learning will not transpire for 'self' being both that you and the author without some kind of action. So, vote!

Leave any comment you desire or none. It is all positive information even when it is critical. A no comment can be compared to an article with bunches of comments discovering patterns or paradigms or differences and likenesses.

Oddities are not rare. They happen to everyone.

This is the Moral of U.S.

Whether is weather but it is always chaotic. Predictability is speculation until we have a known. Once discovering the known, we can discover chaos, which is only a measurement between the known and the predicted. If you predicted whatever and this happen the difference is chaos. Sorry I don't know how to explain it any better right now.

Entropy is where something naturally goes when not affected by something. Rust is chaos not entropy. Entropy is a place in the continuum of time, which only is a means of measurement. I see I am "Free Writing" again. Darn it.

Back to purpose. ALWAYS VOTE. [Click here to read a student essay on voting in America] Elections many times are won not on who votes, but who doesn't. Sometimes they don't want you to vote. Voting is private. It belongs only to YOU! Unless you don't and then it belongs to someone else - get it!

VOTE!

Good morning, Tim! Big smiles here from Cloverleaf :) I have certainly missed you too, especially your keen perception and thoughts on life. I once heard the expression "sometimes we can be so close to the elephant that all we can see is grey" and this saying was recently true for me in my own life. Happily I have been able to free my self from some burdens and can now step back and see more clearly. Thank you for being my dear friend. Hugs :)

In the military and other places they call it double dipping. That is when you retire from the military and then get retirement from another source, like service to state, city & municipalities.

Well I double dipped in smiles just now getting two - one from Movie Master and one from Cloverleaf. Need I say more? OK, I will, I am always a sucker for dissonance - LOL.

Movie Master my next point of destination is your newest hub "It's Hot Stuff." http://moviemaster.hubpages.com/hub/Its-Hot-Stuff Caught my eye when I clicked on home when first arriving.

Cloverleaf, I too was on a hiatus of sorts. Kinda' planned kinda' not. I have a great hub on it to write on my vacation. It will be a followup on one of my first hubs "Internet Writing, Traffic, Entropy: Connections" http://tsmog.hubpages.com/hub/Entropy-HubPages-are

More importantly, I am very happy to see your smile at my home location in the mornings again. You should either figure out how to bottle it up and sell it on eBay or patent it. It is definitely unique one of a kind like all smiles here at hubpages.

Thank you two and keep on 'smiling' , , ,
