Introduction or an excuse, you decide - smile
This hub is being written 57 minutes late. I left a comment for Realhousewife saying I was going to write a poem before I forgot it. Her article Memory – the Short & Long Term of It is awesome and highly recommended. I read it, commented, then headed to a MS Word file. Well, that was 57 minutes ago.
What happen in between? Darned if I know, but I think I remember. Where is that yellow highlighter anyway, which is suggested strongly to be used by her article. Great advice! For now I will use the sun – another memory trick for the mind. Oh well, after going back and voting on all the hubs I read, since I preached about it earlier, I am now ready to share the poem or rambling thoughts.
I have a hankering to go home
Blues on the radio and I’m on that train ride home,
My ticket says it is going somewhere, but where is there?
Don’t know the first home, hell there were 10 by graduation.
The great numbers counter in the sky reached down about the 13th,
Is that lucky or what? And, reset my clock while hiding my memory of home.
(Guitar solo here with drums, remember it is the blues)
I remember playing jacks as a kid, but those star thingies are my homes,
I just plain don’t know which one to grab,
Even though I am first in this game, I don’t which to grab,
So, you win and I lose, lets’ get some Kool-Aid and mix it with Tang,
Guess, yeah the who, remembers about home, but which comes first
Number nine or number seven, well I’m at 21 now, but is it black jack?
(A nice duet here would be fine)
Home is where the heart is, Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh my!
I went to Lincoln Jr. High. We were the Lincoln Lions in West Virginia by God.
But, did the Lion have a heart or not, better watch the video.
All Dorothy did is click three times and that is my aunt’s name,
Lived in Washington a bit, where she is, so is that home, dun’no?
That was about number fourteen, and then I thought I went home.
Dun’no? Causes some distress wondering if I am Timothy the Turtle
All slow and all with my head tucked deep in my shell, dun’no!
(A slow Blues Ballad, uh-huh, diddly-dee-diddly-dah)
Puzzles are fun and all, memories conjure all kinds of spirits and stuff,
This here the train is on its way to my home, most likely all 21 will pass by,
I think number twenty-two is a myth and twenty-three is gon’na be fun,
Now I have a real conundrum – My heart is with NHRA Drag Racing,
And bunches of other stuff too, and time for me to share,
A little something for you!
Are there different kinds of Intelligence or different kinds of Intelligent Lifeforms?
There is a neat bit of information at this link on emotional intelligence for children, around say 7 – 11. This is a great tool for learning about your children, so you can help them on their journey. It is provided by the state of Ohio.
For you there are two fantastic books or learning instruments out there. Both are by Daniel Goleman. The first is Emotional Intelligence. Easy, informative read available on CD's. Jump on the net and do some looking about. Controversial – what isn’t? However, the results or benefits are higher. Great hub idea for someone too! His other book is Social Intelligence. Personally I like this one more, being an amateur Symbolic Interactionist. Both books have helped me tremendously navigate in the seas of recovery and wellness.
Tony Buzan wrote several books on Mind Mapping and Multiple Intelligences. These concepts are what education is about today. This is cutting edge (the allusion is that of Occams razor in philosophy) stuff. Check out your kids books, teenagers books, and college bound adults books. Discovering kids natural intelligences of the accepted 10 today would be a great article for someone to write about. Or, search it out here on hubpages or the net.
Oh, if you have read this far -
I figured out something. Home is at the upper left hand corner of any page on Hubpages. There is an old saying amongst trail blazers – You are never lost if you know where you are.
