Curious . . . what are possible meanings for, "It is immoral to have a particular belief"?

    Are there implications and consequence?

Not sure what you're pointing at. But there is no moral deity that will punish you for having a "particular belief".

I will phrase this my own way rather than borrowing from others. If we believe that morality exists in a type of vacuum and can be absolute, then having a belief system outside of that morality is immoral. If we believe that morality consists of the totality of any given set of constructs and paradigms then any outside belief is merely a factor in determining morality.
If as many do believe you believe that the concept of morality is a contextual lingual use of a term with fluctuating meaning depending on that context then the term makes no sense.
Deities are cool because they screw up man's own determination of what is moral for a "higher" edict of sorts. If Venus were god then any and all sex would be moral, even though it could be immoral for a Kantian philosopher. The belief instead of the logic being the origin of what is determined moral instantly makes the determination immoral.
I never act immorally because I am the determinator of what is moral.

Thank you Tim. Just yesterday I was thinking along these lines through the concepts laid out  Plato's Republic. Kind of a mixing between duty to state and morality.

Very good and interesting question,  to answer I would  have to use an example of say , the Government system , in the United states the process of picking a
President is by votes, yet you have the ya 's and na's
Once that has been decided the vote , then you have a
Elected official, namely a President. , but is it true that he picks his cabinet members to work with his decisions and choices ? Would he keep the old staff of the older president?  do the oder presidents staff expect to have employment base on a New elected choice ?
The point is also like a home that has been purchase
From past owners would we live in the home the same way the past owners lived in that home.

The earth under Satan's rule has been devastated,  financially,  physically,  economically,  all these things effect every human being past present,

Re 12:9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

Joh 12:31 Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

The cure is already been set in motion ,for every concern and every need under Jesus Administration.

    Notice
2Pe 3:13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell

The truth to your answer lies with you individually
    We all are invited.

Mt 25:34“Then the King will say to those on his right: ‘Come, you who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom( Government )prepared for you from the founding of the world.

We make that choice by accepting or declining spiritual truth.

So who will support Jesus !

I should have added that your moral beliefs should be in harmony with the future of Jesus Administration , because that is what will exist , and we will live under a New World
So out with the old , the New stands.

Joh 12:31 "NOW" there is a "judging" of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

Who's "judging" NOW?  Are we standing before judgment seating of  Christ NOW?

      Did you read Scriptures?

Saints "cast out" w/no appeasing & TRUTH!

Norine when I post scriptures my intent is to help people see
There is a, cure for all problems soon coming, you post to argue judge, and stone according to your limited beliefs.
That helps no one. You of all talk about love but you are opposite

Everyone is entitled to set their own moral standards as long as those morals don't conflict with laws. For someone to tell you it's immoral to have a particular belief is to have you conform to (their) particular belief.
Morals that don't conflict with law generally don't have dire consequences.
For example there is no prison for infidelity and yet many people would consider it immoral to cheat on their spouse or significant other. Consequences could vary in such a scenario.
A person may come to regret their actions because their mate leaves them or it may turn out to be another Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie situation where they get married, raise a family, and continue on.
In extreme cases their mate/spouse kills them. Naturally murder is both immoral and illegal.
A lot of folks believe in "karma" and therefore committing immoral acts are likely to lead to universal "payback" of some kind.
However the reality is even you were always "good" you're going to have bad things happen in your life. No one gets sunshine everyday.
I know people who engage in pre-marital sex and yet swear they are Christians. When it comes to religion most people "cherry pick" which scripture/moral teachings they will follow and those they won't. Ecclesiastes 7:20  states the following:
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
    Life is a (personal) journey.
Whether something you did is legal or not if you have a guilty conscious afterwards it means you went against your moral code.
"Do unto others as you would have them do until to you"
Now those are words to live by!
